Parent & Nursery Partnership
We know how important it is for parents to feel connected and involved in their child’s early years. At Smiley Faces Day Nursery, we believe that children thrive best when parents and practitioners work together. A strong partnership between home and nursery helps create consistency, confidence, and a sense of security for every child.
We value the vital role parents play in their child’s development and always welcome your input, feedback, and observations. Our open, friendly communication ensures that you are fully involved in your child’s learning journey, every step of the way.
Tapestry: Your Child’s Learning Journal
We use Tapestry, a secure online learning journal that allows us to record and celebrate your child’s development. Through photos, videos, and diary entries, you can see what your child has been exploring, learning, and enjoying throughout their day.
Parents are encouraged to share their own observations from home too, helping us build a complete picture of your child’s progress, interests, and achievements.
Shared Learning
To extend learning beyond the nursery, we offer a range of at home activities for you and your child to enjoy together, from storybooks and communication cards to simple games that build on what they’re learning with us.
Each room has a special teddy who accompanies children on holidays or special family events. When they return, they love telling us all about their adventures! These experiences help to build confidence, language, and social skills in a fun, meaningful way.

Parent Meetings
We hold annual parent meetings, giving you the opportunity to discuss your child’s development in detail with their Key Worker. It’s a valuable time to review progress, celebrate milestones, and discuss next steps in your child’s learning journey.
Of course, our door is always open, we’re here to listen, share updates, and support you whenever you need us.
